Clocaenog Wind Farm

Clocaenog Forest Wind Farm Appoints Community Investment Fund Administrator

We’re delighted to announce that Community and Voluntary Support Conwy (CVSC) have been appointed as fund administrators. This is an exciting next step in the delivery of the fund which will invest £786,000 per year into neighbouring communities, throughout the lifetime of the project.

CVSC is a local charity with extensive grant making experience and a proven track record of supporting local communities. Their first task will be to recruit a volunteer panel of local representatives who will play a critical role in finalising the criteria and structure of the fund, making decisions about funding applications and shaping the future direction of the fund. innogy would urge anyone with an interest in getting involved in the fund panel to consider making an application. CVSC are looking for people with all sorts of backgrounds and experiences who share their passion and enthusiasm to maximise the impact of this exciting fund and build a long-term legacy for the area. The fund will not open for applications until after the panel has been appointed. For this to be a genuinely community led fund we want to make sure the panel have the opportunity to be fully involved in shaping its design.

Revised Fund Area of Benefit

At innogy we pride ourselves on our flexible approach to the delivery of our wind farm funds and the Clocaenog Forest Wind Farm Community Investment Fund is no different. Throughout the consultation phase of the project we’ve listened to the views of over 500 people, and we’re using this feedback to shape the structure of the fund. We have received significant additional feedback about the fund’s area of benefit since it was announced last year. Following careful consideration, we have chosen to extend the boundary for the fund on the Denbighshire side of the wind farm (see updated AOB attached to the email). This has no impact on the priority zone 1 which remains unchanged, along with the principle that no sound project in that zone will miss out to the wider area.
